Chef here.

I wanted to share with all of you an awesome concept for keeping employees happy. When you have a company that has employees, you'll know that keeping those employees happy is critically important to the success of your business. By keeping your employees content, you'll ensure smooth day to day operations. When an employee is unsatisfied, they may begin looking for other job opportunities while working for you. Ultimately, they may leave without a two-week notice, leaving you and your business in a moment of crisis, depending on the position of that employee.

One of the best ways to keep employees happy is by feeding them! Able Moving & Storage, Inc. does this perfectly. Every Friday during the busy season, they order some of the best food trucks around to come visit their location. They feed their employees with warm and tasty food in the morning before they all set out to their job sites. Able has a motto, "Let our family move your family" and it's just that. They have one big happy family with over 200 full-time employees!

I have yet to see an unhappy employee over there. It's actually quite impressive. It's not easy keeping everyone happy. Not only has Able been consistently growing in business, they've managed to keep their employees more than satisfied.

As you all know, food is one of the easiest ways to increase happiness! That's not by coincidence, it's caused by a little chemical in the brain called dopamine. Dopamine is what our brain releases to keep us motivated, and it's pretty clear that it works!

Should You Swim After Eating?

If you've ever been in a pool before, I'm sure you've heard the ole rumor that "you must wait 45 minutes before swimming!" and I'm here to provide you a little bit of clarity on the subject matter.

The fact of the matter is this, swimming after you eat is the same as any other activity you would choose to do directly after eating. It could upset your stomach and cause cramps! The human body needs time to digest foods before using extraneous amounts of energy.

So, swimming after you eat isn't such a bad thing, as long as you keep it light! The same goes for doing any other forms of exercise. This issue stems from the overall relaxation mentality that being around a pool brings. One of the best pool companies I know has taught me copious amounts of information about proper pool practices, service, and maintenance. It's truly amazing how much goes into swimming pools.

If you gain anything from this post at all, remember this: you can go swimming after eating, just keep it light and listen to your body! You only get one of those ya know.

If you just ate and this looks like you
Then you're swimming too hard!

Food For Thought

If you're someone who likes to drink alcohol when you're poolside, you need to be extra cautious. It only takes up to two drinks before the human body can start to feel the effects of alcohol. When it comes to swimming and drinking, your risk of drowning increases significantly. If you do mix these two things, always make sure there are others around to help you. Statistically speaking, alcohol is involved with a shocking amount of deaths by drowning. It's no secret that you shouldn't put yourself in dangerous situations at all, let alone while under the influence of alcohol.

Remember, life is all about good foods!

Summer temperatures are finally upon us and because of this everyone will be flocking towards the pools. With this, there will undoubtedly be some overlap when it comes time to feast. As you know, this blog is all about paying tributes to the god of appetite.

If you have any questions, leave them below. I'll do my best to get back to them but I stay pretty busy.

What the heck is a snack closet?

A snack closet is one of the best things in this world. A snack closet is exactly as it sounds, a closet with snacks.

You might be wondering, why is this getting it's own blog post? That's simple.

Snack closets are the best thing in the world, didn't you read above?

A snack closet is an extremely powerful closet, similar to the Chronicles of Narnia.

How do you know if you've entered a snack closet?

1. Your taste buds will start leaking.

2. Your stomach will start growling.

3. Your eyes will quickly scan the entire closet top tier snacks.

Without even realizing it, you're brain has already began to create a list of "top tier" snacks. Our brains are incredibly powerful, and some say our brain's potential is quite limited.

If you find yourself in one of these snack closets, be very careful. Even though your body is feeling a rush of emotions, don't let them cloud your judgement.

Snack closets are filled with dangers just as much as they are filled with joy.

Follow this checklist if you find yourself in a snack closet:

1. Read the nutritional facts, is it healthy?
No? Then don't eat it unless you have to. How do you know if you have to? Is it in your top tier list?
If yes, eat it.

2. Look for expiration dates.
If you're about to consume a snack that has reached it's shelf life, what the hell is it doing in your closet? Good snacks NEVER reach expiration dates.

3. How hungry are you?
This questions doesn't really matter because you're going to eat what you want anyway.

I always have considered myself the king of snacks, but that is no longer the case..

I met owner Jim Robison from Robison & Robison Services and let me tell you, this man knows what snacks are all about. In his brand new office, he has the most impressive snack closet I have ever stepped foot into. It's truly remarkable.

If you ever find yourself in the Northern Virginia area, I highly recommend taking a tour of Robison & Robison, if you're lucky, you'll see their snack closet.

Robison & Robison is not your traditional company. They are family owned and operated HVAC contractor in Manassas, Virginia.

They handle anything from residential/commercial repairs, installs, maintenance. Literally everything.

3 Cheese Pizza Review

Now listen here, Papa John's makes some damn good pizza and well, I just had some for lunch.

It's fresh on the mind, and my stomach. So I figured I would start this off with a simple review of their 3 Cheese Pizza.

Best part is I got it FREE.

Free pizza is best.

Either way, my first bite released emotions of happiness and I instantly felt warmer.

The taste of cheese filled my mouth and left my taste buds senseless. They lost the ability to taste for a split second.

Next, the cavities of my mouth quickly filled with Papa John's red sauce. I didn't know what to do with all of it except force it down.

The amount of flavor I experienced was incredible, too much for one man.

What you just read might seem like a dramatic experience of eating pizza, but it's honestly how it felt.

Every. Single. Bite.

Thanks Papa John's
Reviewing food is no easy task.
This is a skill that cannot be performed by everyone.

Reviewing food is an art, it takes time, skill, keen senses, and one hell of a tongue.

Let's face it, we all taste things differently. To review food, you must really be good at what you do. Kinda like Google

Google is so good at what they do, they can afford to give free searches to everyone in the world. These free searches are responsible for finding new places to eat and giving those who review food, a little bit of direction.
There are so many different places to enjoy taste, Google only makes locating them that much easier.

I have been tasting and reviewing food all my life, I can confidently say that I can do what most others can't.

Review Food.

So from here on out, this website, in loving memory of Stone Grill Vancouver, will be dedicated to using my skill for good.

Enjoy. I know I will.

This is the only thing that remains from Stone Grill Vancouver..

Luckily for you, it's gonna be action packed with flavor from all over the world.

This blog is gonna be dedicated to recipes, new flavors, and just a good place to be for anyone who loves food like I do.

In loving memory of my favorite spot to eat in Vancouver, here is the best place to get dinner with a view.
